Demand for broiler production equipment is growing in Sweden.
This is being experienced by the Swedish LANDMECO dealer Animek System AB, which since 2022 has increased sales of LANDMECO’s products by just under 600 per cent, measured in Swedish kronor, based on orders placed in 2026.
According to co-owner Ola Larner, this development is due to several factors.
“Swedish agriculture is experiencing positive growth, and this applies to producers of poultry, pigs and cattle alike. At the same time, the market for broilers is growing, and we have also increased our market share. This positive development is therefore due to a combination of several factors,” he says.
Animek has been a distributor of LANDMECO’s equipment solutions since 2022 and currently sells equipment primarily to broiler producers in southern Sweden.
A combination of products and service
According to Ola Larner, Sweden is working purposefully to increase national food production and reduce the need for imports. This is driving increased activity amongst the country’s poultry producers.
“Investments are being made in new houses and expansions, and we can clearly see this. We are seeing great interest in modern production equipment,” he says.
He also points out that the upturn is not solely due to a growing market.
“It’s a combination of high-quality products from LANDMECO and the service we provide ourselves. We support our customers every step of the way, from installation and commissioning to service and maintenance.”
Together with a subsidiary, Animek offers a comprehensive solution for poultry farmers.
“If the customer has a contractor to build the facility, we can take care of the rest.”
Short delivery times are a key advantage
According to Ola Larner, another reason for the growth is the short delivery times.
“Unlike many of our competitors, we can deliver LANDMECO’s products quickly. That means a lot to our customers.”
He also highlights the partnership with LANDMECO as a key part of the company’s development.
“We’ve had a really good partnership over the years. LANDMECO has developed significantly, and we find that challenges are resolved quickly whenever issues arise.”
Expecting continued high activity
Although recent years have seen significant growth, Ola Larner expects activity levels to remain high.
“I believe the market will remain at a high level for the next three to five years before it stabilises. But, of course, a great deal also depends on what happens in the world around us.”
Animek System AB is based 20 kilometres north of Helsingborg and, together with its subsidiary, employs 10 staff.
Since 1981, the company has been involved in the sale, installation and servicing of technical solutions for the poultry industry.
In 2012, Ola Larner and his wife took over Animek when the previous owners retired.
