Customers across the UK and Ireland will now be supported by a familiar face from the poultry industry.

Jim Bowen has joined LANDMECO as Sales Representative for the region, bringing more than ten years of hands-on experience in breeder and rearing operations. Throughout his career, he has worked in roles ranging from Assistant Manager and Facility Manager to GGP Rearing Area Manager and Transport & Mobile Teams Manager.

With experience from daily farm operations, Jim understands both the challenges poultry producers face and the practical solutions needed to run successful operations. It is one of the reasons why LANDMECO believes he is the right person to support customers and dealers across the British Isles.

“Over the years, I have seen first-hand the challenges producers face. Rising feed and energy costs, disease risks, recruiting good people and retaining skilled employees are all issues that farms are dealing with every day,” says Jim Bowen.

Built on practical experience

Jim entered the poultry industry almost by chance.

“My wife suggested that I apply for an Assistant Manager position on a local laying farm,” he explains.

What started as an unexpected career move soon developed into a genuine passion for the industry.

“I enjoyed the routine and structure that underpin successful poultry operations. From the beginning, I found the industry both challenging and rewarding.”

His first years with Moy Park helped shape his understanding of poultry production.

“Moy Park gave me the opportunity to learn, develop and build the foundations of my career in poultry production.”

Later, his role at Cobb expanded his responsibilities significantly. Managing multiple teams and overseeing both rearing and laying operations across the country provided valuable insight into what it takes to run successful poultry businesses.

“Leading different teams and operations gave me invaluable experience and a much broader understanding of the industry.”

Understanding the challenges on farm

Having worked directly with breeder and rearing flocks, Jim believes that practical experience is essential when supporting poultry producers.

“I know how important it is that equipment, routines and management work together in practice. Every farm is different, but the challenges producers face are often very similar.”

According to Jim, some of the biggest challenges facing the industry today include increasing production costs, stricter welfare requirements and disease risks such as avian influenza.

At the same time, he sees growing demand for more sustainable production methods and a continued transition towards cage-free systems.

“These developments create challenges, but they also create opportunities for producers who are willing to invest in efficient and future-proof solutions.”

Why LANDMECO?

Before joining the company, he already knew LANDMECO as a respected supplier within the poultry industry. He describes reliability, efficiency and innovation as some of the company’s greatest strengths.

“LANDMECO is a growing international company with a strong team culture, meaningful work and a focus on sustainability. It is an exciting time to join the business.”

“My impression was that LANDMECO is known for high-quality and reliable equipment as well as practical solutions that help farmers improve their operations.”

Looking ahead

In his new role, Jim will work closely with LANDMECO’s dealer network across the UK and Ireland.

His focus will be on strengthening relationships, supporting dealers and helping customers identify solutions that improve efficiency and make daily farm management easier.

“My approach is built around collaboration, communication and reliability,” he says.

“Trust, consistency and communication are the foundations of strong, long-term relationships.”

Looking ahead, Jim is excited about helping shape the future of poultry production together with customers, dealers and colleagues across the industry.

“The poultry industry continues to evolve, and I am looking forward to working with LANDMECO to help customers meet future challenges and opportunities.”
